U of T community members named 2025 Changemakers by The Globe & Mail

Four members of the University of Toronto community have been named 2025 Changemakers by The Globe and Mail.
The annual awards program celebrates emerging entrepreneurs and academics who are having an impact on their business or organization, with recipients celebrated online and in the March 2025 print edition of The Globe’s Report on Business magazine.
U of T luminaries who were named 2025 Changemakers are:
- Sanja Fidler, associate professor in the department of mathematical and computational sciences at U of T Mississauga and the department of computer science in the Faculty of Arts & Science, co-founder of the Vector Institute for Artificial Intelligence and vice-president of AI research at NVIDIA
- Efosa Obano, bachelor of business administration alum from U of T Scarborough and founder of the Black Founders Network and African Impact Initiative
- Zain Zaidi, founder and CEO of TransCrypts, a document verification platform – co-founded with Ali Zaheer, who earned a bachelor of science from U of T Scarborough – that received support from The Hub startup incubator (now part of the Sam Ibrahim Centre for Inclusive Excellence in Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Leadership)
- Andrew White, master of applied science alum from the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering and founder of the cleantech solutions firm CHAR Technologies
