Where and when to attend 2019 Remembrance Day events across U of T’s three campuses
Each year, the university community gathers on Remembrance Day to remember the faculty, staff, alumni and students who fell in the First and Second World Wars and other action.
The university is holding events across its three campuses on Nov. 11 to honour soldiers and veterans.
All are welcome to attend.
St. George campus
10:20 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Soldiers’ Tower
The annual Service of Remembrance will be held at Soldiers’ Tower, followed by a reception at Hart House. The carillon will be played before and after the service, which includes the singing of hymns, laying of wreaths and the recitation of the poem In Flanders Fields, written by U of T alumnus John McCrae. The Memorial Room museum in the Soldiers’ Tower will also be open for visitors.
U of T Mississauga campus
10:40 a.m. at the Maanjiwe nendamowinan building
Faculty, staff, students and visitors are invited to attend the annual Remembrance Day ceremony in front of the Maanjiwe nendamowinan building.
U of T Scarborough campus
10:45 a.m. to 12 p.m. at The Meeting Place
The Remembrance Day service will feature the U of T Scarborough concert band, concert choir and string orchestra.
